Short-Term Rehabilitation

The Short-Term Rehabilitation Unit at RiverWoods specializes in treating the unique needs of people of all ages who are in transition between the hospital and home. The Unit offers a home-like setting where residents can recuperate while receiving the therapy they need.

Examples of individuals who benefit from the Short-Term Rehabilitation Unit are those who have suffered  life altering events such as strokes, amputations, joint replacements, and fractures. Those who are suffering from chronic illnesses such as arthritis, respiratory disorders, neurological disorders, and those who become debilitated due to a long hospitalization also benefit from our program.

Our staff members use a comprehensive, interdisciplinary team approach that places the resident and his or her family at the center of the treatment plan. The goal is to help residents gain strength, enhance their quality of life, and return home where they can function as independently as possible.

We provide a complete discharge plan that includes helping residents secure the proper support they need to live independently again.
