Resident celebrates 104th Birthday at RiverWoods Senior Living Community

RiverWoods Senior Living Community hosted a birthday celebration for resident Dorothy Moyer, who turned 104 years old on Tuesday, September 25, 2018. Moyer celebrated the milestone birthday with friends and family at RiverWoods.

Moyer was born to a Lutheran minister and school teacher in Hershey. She majored in music at Susquehanna University and taught music in the Shamokin Area School District for 40 years. She was married to the late George Moyer, an accountant for 33 years. She had a sister, Arlene Bitner, who passed away. She has a nephew, John Bitner, and his wife Susan from New Jersey.

Dorothy is loved by all RiverWoods residents who know her. When asked what her secrets or tips would be for living such a long life, she said, “I don’t know. It’s just one of those things.”
