RiverWoods COVID-19 Update

RiverWoods is continuing to monitor the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation and would like to update you about our efforts. Our commitment to providing a safe living and work environment for those who reside and work here is as strong as ever, and we remain diligent about preparation, process and awareness regarding preventive measures for coronavirus and other communicable viruses and diseases. https://www.asbury.org/news/asbury-covid-19-planning-update/

Visitation Guidelines: In keeping with our standard safety and infection control measures, we ask that people who are exhibiting signs of illness or who have recently been exposed to someone who is ill do not visit our skilled nursing and personal care facilities. As we continue to monitor and adjust our response to coronavirus, we ask that people who have recently traveled to places with documented coronavirus cases or who have knowingly come into contact with someone who has to please refrain from visiting, as well. The safety and well-being of those who live and work at our communities remains our highest priority.

We are following the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines regarding coronavirus. Our community leadership team is also in regular communication with the state and local health departments and the Asbury Communities Clinical Team so that we may stay on top of any new developments and prepare accordingly.

The measures we are taking for coronavirus are similar to those already in place for influenza, with a few additional updates:
• We have reviewed and updated our Communicable Disease Policy to include additional steps for prevention.
• Additional procedures for screening at the time of admission (for residents) or upon hire (for staff) are in place, including inquiries about international travel.
• Working to proactively increase supplies.
• Adding supplemental education and resources for staff.
• Taking a precautionary approach and responding to resident feedback related to any concerns around hosting large-scale community events.

This is a challenging time as coronavirus dominates the news and continues to spread. we are operating out of an abundance of caution in all that we do here at RiverWoods and the precautions in place now – and actions that may be needed later – are well thought out and supported by an evidence-based approach. We are committed to ongoing communication with residents, family members, and associates and are sharing relevant updates to coronavirus prevention practices as they become available.
